B2B ads can be as dry and bland as yesterday’s turkey sandwich. Add some spice to that pallet of pork. Inject a dram of humor into that medical ad. It gets them where they live, and work, in so many ways.
Hasbro — Star Wars
Presenting them in comic book style ads, we could showcase the action features of the Star Wars new toy line.
For the highly detailed Star Wars: Unleashed statues, one big image had all the impact required.
As the average person can be confounded by new technology, we took a simple, humorous approach to explaining how anyone could transfer video or still images to DVD.
While in charge of designing proprietary shapes for Cheetos, the first of mine to hit the market was Whirlz, a cheesy ninja throwing star, which could slide over a drinking straw and spin. More fun, less collateral damage. Lots of ancillary Whirlz items were made. This globally appealing book cover listed dozens of ways to “say cheese” around the world, even sign language!
Hasbro — Stikfas
The ultimate customizable toy. We plastered these teaser posters outside comic conventions, and in toy, comic, and hobby magazines around the country, driving interest and product awareness.
In the years we worked on the brand, STIKFAS saw a significant increase in its product range, awareness and distribution. STIKFAS was awarded "Best Original Concept" by Wizard's Toyfare magazine (the industry's leading publication) and came in second for "Most Fun and Innovative Toy" by Toyshop Magazine---an amazing achievement for a simple plastic toy, in a category dominated by high tech electronic toys.
STIKFAS figures are so ultra pose-ability they’ve even been used to create independent stop motion animation films.
Kelloggs Pop Tarts
To introduce new Wild Watermelon Pop-Tarts, we kept the watermelon color scheme throughout, and showcased what Pop-Tarts always have been: a unique product that’s first and foremost, fun to eat.
Post Fruity Pebbles
WWE Superstar John Cena was a big fan of Fruity Pebbles. We were fans of his too, since every box with his likeness on it sold out. These ads were given out on backs of WWE live event programs.
By pitting one celebrity or sports star against each other on the two major brands, sales of Pebbles increased dramatically.
Exxon/Mobil On the Run Cafe
One thing most people don’t expect from their local gas station: an endless variety of fresh foods. These billboards managed new expectations.
